GREEK TZATZIKI RECIPE

Tzatziki is a sauce made of yogurt, cucumbers, garlic, olive oil, fresh dill, lemon juice (or white vinegar) and sometimes fresh mint.
Tzatziki is a refreshing sauce that it’s served cold. It’s very simple to make with a handful of ingredients.
Tzatiki goes well with grilled veggies, chicken or other grilled meats.

Ingredients for Greek tzatziki sauce:


- 1 large cucumber
- 400gr Greek yogurt
- 2-4 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 lemon, juiced (or to taste)
- 1 small bunch of fresh dill
- salt and pepper to taste


Instructions:


Grate the cucumber, unpeeled, and squeeze it well to get rid o the excess water.
Combine in a bowl Greek yogurt, smashed garlic, olive oil, grated and squeezed cucumber, salt, pepper, lemon juice and fresh dill.
Let Tzatziki sauce rest in the fridge for 30 minutes – 1 hour before serving.
Serve Tzatziki with pita, grilled veggies or meat. Goes perfectly with chicken souvlaki :)
